Town Meeting · Meeting of October 19, 2026

West Boylston's fall Town Meeting approved borrowing $15.9 million for a Middle High School renovation, clearing the required two-thirds threshold. Superintendent Dan Riley said the project could net roughly $10.7 million locally if the Massachusetts School Building Authority approves an estimated $5 million grant. The Town-Wide Planning Committee, represented by Maura Johnson, told voters the town faces a combined $163.5 million in capital needs across the school project, a new DPW building, a new fire station and a cemetery expansion, saying "we need to talk about this number." Voters also adopted 20-mph safety zones near the school and two parks, approved $125,000 for a Mount Vernon Cemetery stone wall, and endorsed a resolution backing the new Wachusett Watershed Coalition's push for larger state payments to reservoir host towns.
