Select Board Authorizes PFAS Litigation Contract
West Boylston Select Board voted to join a multi-town PFAS lawsuit against fire apparatus makers.
Select Board · Meeting of May 6, 2026
West Boylston Select Board voted to join a multi-town PFAS lawsuit against fire apparatus makers. Members unanimously authorized the chair to sign a contingency-fee contract with NSPR Law Services, doing business as Napoli Shkolnik PLLC, with Interim Town Administrator Jim citing a prior MTBE settlement that returned about $450,000 to a town that paid nothing out of pocket. The board also approved $6,766.61 in combined SAFE grants, a $464 Council on Aging donation, and FY26 budget transfers tied largely to police and fire overtime, sending the package to the Finance Committee.
Members signed off on the June 2 town election warrant and a 17-article semi-annual town meeting warrant for May 18, and amended the interim administrator's contract to keep him available through the June 22 arrival of his successor.
