Other Committee · Meeting of September 24, 2026

West Boylston's Community Preservation Committee elected Neil Peterson chair and renewed a $25,000 grant to the town's Affordable Housing Trust, its ninth straight year at that amount. The panel, meeting for the first time since June, also elected a member identified as Steve vice chair and cleared a backlog of minutes from February, March and April. Peterson said a $150,000 grant secured last year for the stalled Woodland Park renovation lost $50,000 to a June 30 deadline after the application was pulled over insufficient drainage and cost data.

He also relayed praise from outside adviser Stuart Saginor for the committee's strict application standard: "I wish more communities did what you did." Members agreed, without a formal vote, to pursue a two-stage application process and to explore splitting the town's combined open space and recreation fund into separate accounts.
