WEST BOYLSTON — The West Boylston Parks Commission reviewed an updated $1.6 million Woodland Park renovation design and heard residents question why a playground was not included. Project engineer Ty told the board a surveyor could not locate four drainage manholes shown on a 1999 site plan, saying "he doesn't know where it goes" of one pipe, and recommended a video inspection before construction bids go out. Resident Leah De La Santa Sylvester, who lives near the park, said she had not known pickleball courts were planned, while resident Amy Pasquale said "it's weird to not have a park without a playground." The commission approved permits for an August football camp and a May 27 Girl Scouts ceremony, set court lighting hours at 9 p.m. through most of the season, and referred a proposed field-fee increase from $20 to $25 per child to next month's meeting.
