West Boylston's Master Plan Committee voted to form a subcommittee to map out timing for major capital projects before any reach town meeting. Facilitator Carter Tetrazini said the Select Board already agreed to hold warrant articles until a "baseline report" covering a new fire station, elementary school and middle-high school work, estimated at $12 million to $15 million, is finished. He warned, "if you were to do all these projects at once, your taxes would double," noting the town's senior center, police station and town hall debt won't fall off for roughly another decade.
CMRPC staff reported 568 total crashes and three fatal crashes in West Boylston from 2020 to 2024 as part of a regional Vision Zero plan. During public comment, committee member Mark, a former Northborough finance director, said developers "have made out more than the town has" and urged negotiating mitigation funds from an 80-unit housing project.
