Planning Board Backs Open Space Plan For Grants

Planning Board · Meeting of February 11, 2026

WEST BOYLSTON — The West Boylston Planning Board voted unanimously to back an updated 10-year Open Space and Recreation Plan, unlocking eligibility for state grants tied to the Woodland Park project. Chair Marc Frieden signed the board's letter of support, which cites priorities including Route 140 safety fixes near three reported bicycle crashes and sidewalk extensions near the school. Members also unanimously granted Bethlehem Bible Church a one-year extension on its site plan and stormwater permit for a septic and parking lot overhaul at 307 Lancaster Street.

The board debated draft stormwater regulations drawn up by Weston and Sampson at the EPA's request, with one member asking, "If we do nothing, what's going to happen? The town gets in trouble with EPA people," and set a public hearing for March 11. The board also tabled a Weston Circle street acceptance request over unresolved 2025 conditions.
